Anybus® CompactCom 40 CC-Link IE TSN expands HMS’ range of Anybus-embedded products.

The Anybus CompactCom 40 CC-Link IE TSN is the world’s first embedded communication interface to provide a gigabit Ethernet connection and TSN functionality in one package. With CompactCom 40 CC-Link IE TSN, device manufacturers and machine builders get a fast track to connecting their products to CC-Link IE TSN networks.

Benefits of TSN

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) has defined the Ethernet standard used in CC-Link IE TSN, making CC-Link IE TSN the first open industrial network protocol to combine gigabit Ethernet bandwidth with TSN functionality. Companies can now connect to a CC-Link IE TSN network and realize the TSN benefits first identified over ten years ago. For example, manufacturers can collect data with accurate time stamp information, integrate OT and IT networks, and implement advanced motion control mechanisms.

Working with CLPA to ensure fast, reliable communication

Developed in collaboration with CLPA, the Anybus CompactCom 40 CC-Link IE TSN is a fully compatible TSN product supporting remote station class B. The award-winning Anybus NP40 industrial network processor is at the core of the CompactCom, ensuring high performance by transferring up to 1420 bytes of process data in each direction and guaranteeing synchronization accuracy of 1 μs or less.

Available in two formats

As with all Anybus CompactCom 40 products, the CC-Link IE TSN interface is available in different formats, enabling customers to choose the form factor that suits their needs.

Module – An all-in-one solution that enables the fastest time to market. It includes hardware, firmware, as well as connectors, and is available with or without housing.

Brick – Hardware and firmware packaged in a very compact brick form factor. This is the best choice for applications with limited space, and if a specific connector or protection class is required

Quick installation

To ensure a smooth installation, Anybus provides expertise and documentation such as example driver code and a generic configuration file (CSP+). The installation process is even more straightforward if customers have previously integrated another CompactCom product into their device or machine, as they can reuse their existing in-design work.

Access to all industrial networks

HMS offers Anybus CompactCom interfaces for all major industrial networks. And as Anybus CompactCom products are interchangeable from a hardware and software point of view, customers can reuse their design work fully and connect to any network by simply selecting the CompactCom of choice.

"We have been working closely with CLPA and are delighted to release the world's first embedded industrial communication interface offering gigabit Ethernet bandwidth and supporting TSN functionality," says Samuel Alexandersson, Business Line Director, Anybus Embedded, at HMS Networks. "It shows our commitment to TSN and allows companies to start working with the exciting CC-Link IE TSN technology without developing the solution themselves''.

About Anybus embedded – the history of a ground-breaking innovation

The first Anybus module was developed in 1994. The number of fieldbuses increased rapidly, and the Anybus embedded concept made it possible for device manufacturers to connect their devices to any industrial network in an easy way. Over the last decade, the evolution of industrial networks has continued and many industrial Ethernet protocols with high performance have been introduced. With full fieldbus and industrial Ethernet connectivity, IT features, and solutions for functional safety and security, the Anybus embedded technology has always been at the forefront, now also covering wireless technologies and IIoT connectivity. Today, millions of Anybus products are used in factories globally. The multi-network connectivity offered by the Anybus embedded concept is still the key benefit for the user.
