HMS Networks in Halmstad has grown at breakneck speed in recent years. HMS manufactures and markets products for industrial communication – a booming market today as more and more machines need to connect to industrial control systems and the internet. Today, HMS delivers more than 100,000 products every month to customers all over the world, and the majority of these are shipped from Halmstad.

To handle the increasing demand, HMS, together with Corem and NCC, is now building a state-of-the-art Supply Logistics Center (SLC) in Halmstad. This will act as a central warehouse for HMS and deliver products to around 100 countries.

“Our new SLC will be situated in direct connection to HMS's operations in Halmstad and it feels great to be able to gather all operations in the area around Lokstallarna. Previously, our SLC was a little bit away," says Jonatan Lundberg, Global Logistics Manager at HMS.

“The new warehouse has a total area of approximately 1200m2 and a height of almost 13 meters. This enables us to meet future requirements for growth and for storage capacity.

New technology

As a technology company, HMS is always interested in new technologies also for warehousing and transport. The new warehouse contains self-guiding robots and vertical buffer modules - VBM from Kardex. The roof will be prepared for solar and the top of the building will also accommodate conference rooms overlooking Halmstad's harbor entrance.
