Funded by Saudi Arabia's Tarshid, this initiative aligns with the Kingdom’s sustainability goals by enhancing energy efficiency through strategic retrofitting and advanced air conditioning management.

On September 19th, the MEP Middle East Awards 2024 honored the project titled "Transformative Air Conditioning Control for Energy Management" as the winner in the 'Smart Project of the Year' category. This groundbreaking initiative, featuring 2,200 Intesis AC Cloud Control gateways, is designed to revolutionize air conditioning management across a major medical-university complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The university, a leading institution in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, had an annual energy consumption of 133 GWh in 2019. Through the implementation of a comprehensive modernization project, the university achieved energy savings of 32%, equivalent to SAR 13.58 million in annual cost savings. This significant reduction was the result of a strategic retrofitting plan, which included improvements to air conditioning, ventilation, and other mechanical and electrical systems, aimed at optimizing energy utilization.

The Intesis AC Cloud Control platform enabled real-time monitoring and control of air conditioning systems, further enhancing energy efficiency as part of the larger initiative. Funded by Saudi Arabia’s national energy services company, Tarshid, the project not only improved energy performance but also aligned with the Kingdom’s sustainability goals.

This award-winning project demonstrates the transformative power of smart technologies and strategic retrofitting, resulting in a high-performing, energy-efficient infrastructure for the university and its world-class healthcare complex. By leveraging the Intesis AC Cloud Control solution, which integrates seamlessly with existing air conditioners of any brand, the project exemplifies the ease of building modernization. The platform's advanced functionalities enhance control and optimize performance, making it an ideal choice for retrofit projects like the one carried out by Tarshid, and significantly improving overall energy efficiency.
