Panasonic Compatibilities

This document describes the different steps on checking the compatibility with Intesis AC Interfaces.

IN THIS ARTICLE

There are 2 main categories of gateways: One-to-One and Multi-Unit.

The One-to-One category is divided into 3 subcategories depending on the type of gateway: Universal IR, AC Connector and RC Connector.

 

PLEASE NOTE: A special type of air-water gateway is available for Panasonic.

 

One-to-One

These gateways communicate with a single Indoor Unit and offer individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.).

 

Within this category there are 4 different types of Panasonic gateways:

  • Universal IR.
  • AC Connector.
  • RC Connector.
  • Air-to-Water.

 

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Supported: Panasonic families Aquarea H, Aquarea J, Etherea ECOi, ECOiEX PACi and Indoor Units models: Cassettes, Ducted, Wall mount, Floor ceilling.

  • Not supported: Chiller and Outdoor Units.

  • The CZ-RTC5B wired remote control is not compatible with Intesis gateways due to its power consumption.

  • Accesories: IR Kit receiver (CZ-RWSU3).

 

Universal IR

The Universal IR communicates via the Infrared receiver of the Indoor Unit

AC Connector
These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit via a specific connector (CN-CNT) on the PCB.

 

RC Connector

These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit using the Indoor Unit's remote control bus (R1/R2), which is the same bus used by the wired remote control of the Indoor Unit itself.

 

Air-to-Water

These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit via a specific connector (CN-CNT) on the PCB.

 

Multi-Unit

These gateways have direct access to the Outdoor Unit communication bus (P-Link) providing individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.) and signals from the Outdoor Units. These gateways use Intesis MAPS as Configuration Tool.

 

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Indoor Units cannot be connected directly to the gateways.

  • Compatible with Panasonic ECOi, ECOg and PACi Outdoor Unit models.
