QUESTION

There are 4 options in Address format, what is the difference between them?

ANSWER

The 4 options in Address format represent the register address format, no matter which one is selected, it represents the same register address, but the format displayed in the attributes on the right of the transacton is different.

For example, in the Read Holding Registers transaction, set the starting register address to 0:

(1) Address format select "Address (0,1,2,...) ", the transaction starting register address is displayed as   "Address 0".

(2) Address format select "Register (1,2,3,...)" ", the transaction starting register address is displayed as  "Register 1".

(3) Address format select "Modicon (00001/10001/30001/40001)", the transaction starting register address is displayed as "Modicon 40001".

(4) Address format select "Modicon Extended (000001/100001/300001/400001)", the transaction starting register address is displayed as "Modicon Extended 400001".

They all mean the first holding register, and you can use any one as you like.
