This document explains how to increase the DHCP client timeout in an Ewon. Indeed, local IT systems are sometimes slow to answer to the Ewon DHCP requests and you may need to increase the timeout to get it working.

There are two timeout parameters available in the advanced parameters ( System > Setup > Storage > Tabular Edition > Edit COM Config) : The "DHCPTo" (DHCP Timeout) and the "DHCPRTo" (DHCP Retry Timeout).
By default the Ewon will wait 10 seconds for an answer from the DHCP server.
If after 10 seconds Ewon did not receive an answer on its DHCP request, then it will not attribute an IP address to its Ethernet interface or Wifi interface.
You can increase this DHCP timeout up to 240 seconds.
During this DHCPTo time, the Ewon also performs retries.
The retries timeout DHCPRTo is by default set to 1 second (So 10 retries). So, a DHCP request retry is performed every second till the global DHCPTO timeout expires. Some IT systems requires a bigger retry time as every retry triggers an action in the network.
