HMS Networks introduces the Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS, a compact and pre-certified safety module designed to simplify the integration of safe I/O signals into mobile machines using CIP Safety. The module enables fast local safety reactions and safe remote stops via wireless networks, ensuring flexible, reliable machine safety with SIL-3/PLe certification.
The Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS complements HMS Networks’ existing safety solutions, including the Ixxat Safe T100 series. While the Safe T100 is designed for the needs of stationary industrial applications, the Safe2Link Pure IO/CS offers additional functions needed for mobile machine safety. These include an integrated configurable safety logic to provide both fast local reactions and slower remote stop capabilities, as well as a function to slow down a mobile device before a safe stop. The addition of the Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS enhances HMS Networks’ comprehensive safety offerings, supporting both stationary and mobile systems with minimal integration effort.
The Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS integrates external safe communication into a vehicle’s local safety control system. It combines local safety signals into a single Safe Torque Off (STO) signal, eliminating the need for separate in-vehicle safety logic with the SafeBound™ feature.
Mobile machines often require both a local, fast-reacting safety system and a safe remote stop capability. The Safe2Link Pure IO/CS safely bridges these functions, receiving remote stop signals via wireless links using safety protocols like CIP Safety or PROFIsafe. It supports both protocols on a single hardware platform, offering flexibility for system integrators to use PROFINET - PROFIsafe or EtherNet/IP - CIP Safety PLCs without redesigning hardware.
The compact form factor makes the Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS an ideal safety communication module for mobile machine controllers. It seamlessly integrates with Anybus CompactCom, allowing customers using the Ixxat Safe T100 to upgrade without hardware changes.
The Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS provides a future-proof, flexible solution for extending safe communication networks with minimal integration effort.
"We're delighted to add the Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS to our portfolio of safety products," explains Stefan Kraus, Safety Product Manager at HMS Networks. "It’s perfect for mobile machine makers, delivering the flexibility system integrators need to incorporate advanced safety protocols without redesigning hardware. This solution not only extends our commitment to functional safety but also ensures mobile machine manufacturers can achieve compliance with minimal effort, providing a future-proof, scalable safety system."
The Anybus Safe2Link Pure IO/CS offers an easy way to implement safe I/O signals into mobile machines, using the CIP Safety protocol.
