This document describes the different steps on checking the compatibility with Intesis AC Interfaces.

APPLICABLE PRODUCTS

  • Hitachi & Universal AC Interfaces: (INKNXHIT001A000, INKNXHIT001R000, IN770AIR00SO000, IN770AIR00MO000, INBACHIT001R000, IN485HIT001R000, INMBSHIT001R000, INWFIUNI001I000, IN485UNI001I100, INWMPUNI001I000, INKNXUNI001I000)

PRE-REQUISITES

Considerations before reviewing a compatibility.

IN THIS ARTICLE

There are 2 main categories of gateways: One-to-One and Multi-Unit.

The One-to-One category is divided into 3 subcategories depending on the type of gateway: Universal IR, AC Connector and RC Connector. For this solution we have Universal IR and RC Connector available.

PLEASE NOTE: A special type of air-water gateway is available for Hitachi.

One-to-One

These gateways communicate with a single Indoor Unit and offer individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.).

Within this category there are 3 different types of Hitachi gateways:

  • Universal IR.
  • RC Connector.
  • Air-to-Water.

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Supported: Air-to-Water units, VRF Fan Coil Units, Cassettes, Duct, Floor standing Units, Wall mount and System FREE Units UTOPIA Range, UTOPIA VRF, Set FREE Range.
  • Not supported: Ventilation Units and Outdoor Units.

  • Accesories: IR Kit receiver.

Universal IR

The Universal IR communicates via the Infrared receiver of the Indoor Unit

RC Connector

These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit using the Indoor Unit's remote control bus (AB), which is the same bus used by the wired remote control of the Indoor Unit itself.

Air-to-Water

These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit via a specific connector (H-Link) on the PCB.

Multi-Unit

These gateways have direct access to the Outdoor Unit communication bus (H-Link and H-Link II) providing individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.) and signals from the Outdoor Units. These gateways use Intesis MAPS as Configuration Tool.

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Indoor Units cannot be connected directly to the gateways.
  • Compatible with Air-to-Water Units and VRF Outdoor Units.
  • Not compatible with AHU, Ventilation Units, Heat exchange systems.
