Samsung Compatibilities

This document describes the different steps on checking the compatibility with Intesis AC Interfaces. 

 

APPLICABLE PRODUCTS 

  • Samsung & Universal AC Interfaces: (INBACSAM001R100, INMBSSAM001R100, IN770AIR00SO000, IN770AIR00MO000, INMBSSAM001R000, INWFIUNI001I000, IN485UNI001I100, INWMPUNI001I000, INKNXUNI001I000).

IN THIS ARTICLE 

There are 2 main categories of gateways: One-to-One and Multi-Unit.

The One-to-One category is divided into 3 subcategories depending on the type of gateway: Universal IR, AC Connector and RC Connector. For this solution we have Universal IR and RC Connector available.

 

One-to-One

These gateways communicate with a single Indoor Unit and offer individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.).

 

Within this category there are 2 different types of Samsung gateways:

  • Universal IR.
  • RC Connector.

 

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Supported: CAC (Central Air Conditioning), DVM S (digital variable multi), EHS (Eco Heating System) Cassettes, Duct, Floor standing Units, Wall mount, Air curtain, VRF Fan Coil units, Floor-ceiling.
  • Not supported: Outdoor Units.

  • NASA: Find the connectors F3, F4 (must not have V1 y V2).

  • Non-NASA: Find the connectors F3, F4 and V1, V2

  • Accessories: SC-BIKN2-E, SC-BIKN-E(A), IR Kit receiver.

 

Universal IR

The Universal IR communicates via the Infrared receiver of the Indoor Unit

RC Connector

These gateways are connected to the Indoor Unit using the Indoor Unit's remote control bus (F3/F4), which is the same bus used by the wired remote control of the Indoor Unit itself.

 

Multi-Unit

These gateways have direct access to the Outdoor Unit communication bus (R1/R2) providing individual control points for the most relevant variables (on/off, setpoint, mode, fan speed, etc.) and signals from the Outdoor Units. These gateways use Intesis MAPS as Configuration Tool.

 

When checking a compatibility consider:

  • Indoor Units cannot be connected directly to the gateways.
  • Compatible with DVM S (and compatible Indoor Units), CAC Outdoor (and compatible Indoor Units), ERV+, EHS, TDM+, AHU, Module Chiller.

  • Not compatible with NASA Units before 2013.

  • Non-NASA Units need an optional MIM-xxx interfaces serial “DB91-01559A_171211” or after.
