This article describes how to perform a manual reset level 1 and level 2 on a Flexy 205 and a Cosy 131.
Tip: Reset level 1 is a user level reset and reset level 2 is a factory reset.

PRE-REQUISITES
This procedure requires to be locally with the Ewon device, it cannot be performed remotely.
It´s mandatory to have Administrator rights on the eCatcher since it will have to be linked to the Talk2M account once again.

Reset level 1 in a Flexy
The first level reset consists in formatting only the “user files” part of the non-volatile memory, affecting the following settings:
- Users
- Device password (restore to adm)
- Tags
- IO server config
- Gateway config
- Ewon identification
- User web sit
- User scripts
This type of reset does not modify the communication parameters of the Flexy 205.
Steps to perform a level 1 reset:
- Flexy must be powered OFF and back ON.
- Immediately the reset button should be pressed and maintained, it´s located below the EWON logo, the BI1 led will light up.
- After approximately 30 seconds the USR led will blink red, the reset button can be now released, there is only a 5 second window before getting to the reset level 2 stage.
- The reset process will begin and last for about 30 seconds.
- The Flexy 205 will restart automatically and will be ready when the USR led blinks green.
Reset level 2 in a Flexy
This reset will format all non-volatile memories and erase the Flexy 205 back to factory default, affecting the following settings:
- LAN IP address + mask
- Internet access
- Language settings
- COM settings
- Talk2M config + key
- Proxy configuration
- Memory configuration
- User(s)
- Device password (restored to adm)
- Tags
- IO server config
- Gateway config
- Ewon Identification
- User web site
- User Scripts
Steps to perform a level 2 reset:
- Flexy must be powered OFF and back ON.
- Immediately the reset button should be pressed and maintained, it´s located below the EWON logo, the BI1 led will light up.
- After approximately 35 seconds the USR led will stay red, the reset button can now be released.
- The reset will begin and last for about 15 seconds, and start on diagnose mode, which can be identified by the USR led blinking red with a pattern of 200ms ON and 1,5 sec OFF. In case of a different pattern, it means there was a problem with the auto test.
- A manual power cycle must be performed, the Flexy will be ready when the USR led blinks green.
Reset level 1 in a Cosy
The first level reset consists in formatting only the “user files” part of the non-volatile memory, affecting the following settings:
- Device password (restored to adm) - Only for Cosy 131. On Cosy+ the device password remains.
- Device identification
- User web site
This type of reset does not modify the communication parameters of the Cosy 131
Steps to perform a level 1 reset:
- Cosy must be powered OFF and back ON.
- Immediately the reset button should be pressed and maintained, it´s located beside the BI1 led, the BI1 led will light up.
- After approximately 30 seconds the USR led will blink red, the reset button can now be released, there is only a 5 second window before getting to the reset level 2 stage.
- The reset process will begin and last for 30 about seconds.
- The Cosy will restart automatically and will be ready when the USR led blinks green.
Reset level 2 in a Cosy
This reset will format all non-volatile memories and erase the Cosy back to factory default, affecting the following settings:
- LAN IP address + mask
- Internet access
- Language settings
- Modem / WI-FI settings
- Talk2M config + key - Only for Cosy 131.
- On Cosy+ the Talk2M config + key remain as they are no longer stored in the device configuration files.
- Proxy configuration
- LAN switch configuration
- Device password (restored to adm)
- IO server config
- Gateway config
- Device Identification
- User web site
Steps to perform a level 2 reset:
- Cosy must be powered OFF and back ON.
- Immediately the reset button should be pressed and maintained, it´s located beside the BI1 led, the BI1 led will light up.
- After approximately 35 seconds the USR led will stay red, the reset button can now be released.
- The reset will begin and last for about 15 seconds, and start on diagnose mode, which can be identified by the USR led blinking red with a pattern of 200ms ON and 1,5 sec OFF. For Cosy+ the USR LED blinks red with the following pattern: 500ms ON, 500ms OFF.
In case of a different pattern, it means there was a problem with the auto test. - A manual power cycle must be performed, the Cosy will be ready when the USR led blinks green.
