Good to know before setting up

When implementing PROFIsafe over wireless, always try to avoid roaming.

If roaming is needed, try to use Fast Roaming, 802.11r.

The Bolt/Bridge can support 802.11r when used as clients, not when used as access points.

The Bolt should be set up as "L2 MAC Clone" for use with Profinet/PROFIsafe.

Only one single device behind each Bolt.

The "MAC Layer 2 only" feature is used to connect a single device to a corporate wireless network. This makes the Bolt transparent to the network.

! The IO cycle update time for each IO device must be set to ≥ 64 ms.

That means cycle time for one node = 64ms.

Each additional node increases the cycle time!

Cycle time = 64ms * n (n = number of nodes).

Please follow the instructions in the Startup Guide and into the User Manual - Anybus Wireless Bridge/Bolt for the correct implementation/configuration.
