Product registration for warranty extension

The warranty period of the Ixxat USB-to-CAN can be extended to five years. With this extended warranty period, HMS offers additional protection that goes far beyond the legally regulated warranty period. This warranty extension can be made free of charge for all products that come with a warranty card with registration code – just by registering online on this page.

Warranty extension conditions

In addition to all legal rights arising from the purchase, this product is covered by a warranty as defined below:

 

  • The warranty duration is 12 months and starts from the date of purchase of the product. This date must be verified by an invoice or other proof of purchase.

  • The warranty for selected variants of the USB-to-CAN V2/FD can be extended from one year to a maximum of five years (1+4) by registering on the website www.hms-networks.com. All warranty extensions require online registration within 60 days of the purchase date. In addition, the end user must give consent to the storage of data required for online entry and accept the terms and conditions. In this context, the accuracy of the data serves as a basic condition for the approval of the warranty extension. The registration confirmation sent by e-mail and the original invoice with the date of purchase serve as proof of the warranty extension. Your legal rights remain unaffected.

  • The warranty covers any defects in the product due to manufacturing or materials during the warranty period that are present at the time of purchase. The warranty is limited to repair and/or replacement and does not include any other obligations, including but not limited to accidental or consequential damages. The warranty is not valid if the product has been misused, used in violation of the operating instructions, or incorrectly connected. This warranty does not apply to:

    - any product that has been changed or modified
    - any product on which the original marking (trademark, serial number) has been made unrecognizable
    - damage caused by non-compliance with the operating instructions
    - any product that has undergone repair or attempted repair by an unqualified professional or without prior authorization from HMS Networks
    - any product that has been connected to an unsuitable power supply
    - damage caused by external influences (water, chemical and physical influences, shocks) or by foreign objects
    - normal wear and tear
    - improper use, overloading of the product
    - use of non-approved accessories or parts

  • The product must be sent or presented to HMS Networks for maintenance. When sending a USB-to-CAN to HMS Networks, the product should be securely packed, with the sender's address, invoice, and warranty extension confirmation. Shipping costs or postage must be paid by the sender.

  • Repair/replacement under this warranty is free of charge. It does not constitute an extension or restart of the warranty period. Replaced parts or products become the property of HMS Networks.

Registration form

To register your products, please fill in the form below. For each product, you will need a registration code (which can be found on the back of the registration card enclosed with the product) and a product serial number (which can be found on the product). 

Up to 20 products can be registered in one form. The data is submitted via the "Send registration and finish" button. If you want to register more than 20 products, click the "Send registration and add more products" button. The registration will then be submitted and directly afterwards a partially pre-filled form will be loaded, in which you can add the additional products.
